White hatters charge that black hat methods are an attempt to manipulate search ranking unfairly.Black hatter counter that all SEO is an attempt to manipulate rankings, and that the particular methods one uses to rank well are irrelevant.

Search Engine Optimization is a set of methods used to improve the ranking of a website in search engine result.The higher a website ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that the site will be visited by a user.It is the process of consistently fine tuning the structure of the website, arranging the website content as well as choosing the proper keywords, the html meta-tags and the submission process in order to improve its search engine ranking.It is also considered a part of search engine marketing.
